Jim White, Partner

Jim White, partner, is responsible for consultant relations and institutional business development for the Midwest region of the United States at William Blair Investment Management. He joined William Blair in 2010 and currently has 34 years of experience in the institutional asset management industry. Before joining the firm, Jim was the U.S. head of consultant relationship management at UBS Global Asset Management, where he was responsible for servicing consulting organizations concentrating on global asset allocation, global equities, global bonds, alternative assets, and specific asset-class mandates. Jim is currently on the National Campaign Steering Committee for SMU Ignited, which is raising over $1.5 billion for Southern Methodist University. Previously, he was the head of the SMU Chicago-area fundraising campaign, raising over $1 billion, as well as a member of the SMU parent leadership committee. Jim is also a member of the National Council on Teacher Retirement’s corporate advisory committee. Previously, he was a member of the American Youth Soccer Organization’s board of directors for 15 years. Jim received a B.F.A. in journalism, with a focus on advertising and public relations, and a B.A. in political science from Southern Methodist University, and an M.B.A., with a concentration in finance, marketing, and organizational behavior, from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
