Mark Lane, partner, is a research analyst on the U.S. growth and core equity team at William Blair Investment Management. He focuses on U.S. financials across all market caps. Formerly, Mark held multiple roles on the team, including director of research for the U.S. growth equity strategies from 2013 to 2017 and financials sector analyst in William Blair’s sell-side research group, specializing in asset management, brokerage, exchanges, and investment banking. Before joining the firm in 1998, he was a senior underwriter at The St. Paul Companies, analyzing specialty property-casualty insurance risks, and an analyst in the Chicago high-net-worth money-management group at Goldman Sachs. Mark received a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
