Tony Dote

Tony Dote is a senior institutional business development representative focusing on public funds and a senior client relationship manager at William Blair Investment Management. Before joining William Blair in 2024, he was a managing director at Lazard Asset Management in New York City. For over forty years, Tony was responsible for client servicing and business development in the public, corporate, and endowments and foundations (E&F) markets. During his early years at the firm, he interacted with many investment consulting firms, and in his last 25 years, Tony focused on managing and growing Lazard’s public funds business. He also marketed to and serviced Lazard’s largest clients and prospects. Before that, Tony worked at A.G. Becker & Co. in Chicago, holding several management positions before working as a field consultant. His territory ranged from New York City to Washington, D.C., and he worked with corporate and public pension funds and E&F clients. Tony currently serves on the advisory committee to the board of directors of the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS). Before that, he served for 20 years on the advisory committees for the National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA) and the National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR). Tony is also a member of the investment committee for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), which is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. Tony received a B.S. in business management from St. Joseph’s College.
