Redefining Career Possibilities

A former Blair Connect summer intern, Sergio Gaona, explains how the program helped him find his career path at William Blair.

Growing up on the South Side of Chicago and being a first-generation college student made it seem impossible to get my foot in the door in the financial services industry. Luckily, the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund was able to help make me aware of the Investment Management summer internship program at William Blair. From there, I was able to experience what it is like to work at William Blair; the culture is just nothing like I’ve seen before. Also, honing my skills in the financial services industry. I’m very fortunate to be back as a full-time employee in Investment Management. I’m so happy to be here and to continue my career.
