Caroline Karanu is a systematic research analyst at William Blair Investment Management. She focuses on empirical research, equity risk models, and quantitative factors. Before joining the firm in 2024, she was a senior analyst at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Previously, Caroline was an analyst at BMO Asset Management conducting quantitative research for U.S. strategies and enhanced their research and portfolio management infrastructure. She began her career in the investment industry as a portfolio management analyst at Dimensional Fund Advisors. Caroline received a B.Sc. in actuarial science from the University of Nairobi and an M.Sc. in computational finance and risk management from the University of Washington.
