David Adams, Partner

Director of Strategy

David Adams, partner, is the director of strategy at William Blair Investment Management. He is also a member of Investment Management's executive leadership team and the William Blair extended leadership group. In this role, David works with business leaders to develop and refine division strategy, analyze new business opportunities and M&A, and nurture new products. Before joining William Blair in 2015, David was a principal at Bain and Company and worked in their Boston, London, and Chicago offices. There, he advised clients in private equity, financial services, and industrial goods and services on strategy, management, due diligence, and operations. Before that, David was an associate vice president at Chatham Partners, where he provided consulting and custom market research to financial services clients. David was also a math teacher at Loomis Chaffee, a private high school in Connecticut. David received a B.A. in physics and biology from Williams College and an M.B.A. from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
